Rate & Boundary Import Process
The Microsoft Dynamics GP Tax Detail and Tax Schedule can be created and/or updated using the DZ Rate and Boundary Import window or in Build 74 and later, the DZ Rate and Boundary Import window The import process reads the ASCII text files included in the Rate & Boundary Database and updates the tax records in the accounting system based on the information contained in that database. This import can be run in SQL Optimized or non-optimized mode.

Affected by the Import
- Zip Code Tax Schedule (Subject to the related tax details' Import Status )
- Currently active tax details that use the DynamicZip Tax Detail ID Format (Subject to the tax detail's Import Status )
- The related records in the DZ Tax Schedule Supplement table
- The related records in the DZ Tax Detail Supplement table
- The related records in the DZ Zip Address table
- The related records in the DZ Geocode Master table
- A record of the import process is added to the DZ Update History table
- Modifications to tax schedules are recorded in the DZ Tax Schedule Update table
Settings Affecting the Import
- Import Settings in the DynamicZip Setup window
- Selections made in the DZ State Setup window
- Import Status selected in the DZ Tax Detail Supplement window
- Place Names that can be viewed and modified in the DZ FIPS Code Maintenance window
- The Naming Rules for new cities & counties that can be viewed and modified in the DZ Naming Rules window
Import Processes
- The Pre-populate Address Supplement processes
- Initial import of ZIPsales Database text files
- Purge zip addresses
- Remove duplicate records
- Handle In/Out city limits
- Add single county ZIPs (Only with the Zip+4 Option )
- Validate tax schedules
- Update tax details
- Build city limits schedules
- Assign detail IDs
- Track Tax Free Jurisdictions (when enabled)
- Update schedule descriptions
- Assign tax schedule IDs
- Create tax schedules
- Log tax detail import status
- Update Tax Schedule
- Update exempt tax schedules
- Remove reserve tax detail IDs
- Scan for unused Zip Code Tax Schedule
- Remove unused Zip Code Tax Schedule
- Flag modified schedules
- Update administrator table
- Purge overlapping records from the ZIP+4 file (Only with the Zip+4 Option )
