Tax Schedules Selection Criteria

DynamicZip uses the following criteria to select the correct tax schedule:

• Read from the Tax Location address:
  • Zip Code (required except for Statewide Tax Schedules which use only the state code)
  • City
  • State Code
  • County (from the zip+4 of the tax location address if that option is enabled)
• Read the record from the DZ Customer Address Supplement table. If Lock Tax Location has been selected, the Geocode is used to identify the city, county and state and that is used along with the zip code also stored on this record. If Lock Tax Location has NOT been selected then the geocode is used to identify the actual city as opposed to the USPS Preferred City Name and the county (if the Zip+4 option is not enabled).
• Read customer's Taxable/Exempt status from the DZ Customer Supplement table or the DZ Customer Tax by State table
• Intrepreted from the existing tax schedule ID but disregarded if the zip code portion of the existing tax schedule ID does not match the current tax location zip code: * In/Out of city limits status
