TE Log Viewer window
The TE Log Viewer allows you to browse through the log entries created by the KampData TaxEngine. The KampData TaxEngine automatically logs most unhandled exceptions that could occur while using the KampData TaxEngine. The KampData TaxEngine also logs certain processes such as importing documents using the TE Document Import.
Fields
Entry Number
A sequential number assigned to log entries as they are created.
Entry Type
The most suitable entry type at which a log entry is entered as
User ID
The user ID associated with a log entry.
Start
The starting date of a log entry.
End
The ending date of a log entry.
ET
The elapsed time of a log entry.
Process ID
Identifies the process in which the log entry was created.
Process Description
Additional description related to the process in which the log entry was created.
Minimum Level to Show
You can select what level of errors to display and/or print, should you choose to print the log.
- Verbose This level provides information regarding ordinary and normal occurrences that you would normally not be interested in unless you are using the log to help debug a problem. This level will include all of the following levels.
- Info This level provides information regarding ordinary and normal occurrences that you may be want to know about. For example, if you are importing documents and a document already exists in the KampData TaxEngine transaction history, then the log entry regarding this event will have an error level of Info. This level will include all of the following levels.
- Warning This level provides information that may be ordinary and normal. For example, if the KampData TaxEngine assigns a different tax schedule to a line during the document import, then the log entry will have an error level of Warning. This level will include all of the following levels.
- Error This level provides information that would rarely be considered ordinary or normal. For example, if the KampData TaxEngine is unable to locate a tax schedule it is attempting to assign during the document import, then the log entry will have an error level of Error. This level will include all of the following level.
- Summary This level provides summary information about the process being logged. For example, your selected import restrictions will be logged with an error level of Summary.
