ZIP Code Tax Schedule ID format
All Builds
- Position 1 - 5
- ZIP Code
- Position 6
- Blank
Build 74 and later
- Position 7 & 8
- Used to make each schedule ID unique. Position 7 will be blank unless no choices remain unused for position 8.
- Position 9 - 14
- Blank
- Position 15
- [blank] = Taxable.
- X = Exempt
Build 74 relies on the related record in the DZ Tax Schedule Supplement table to select the appropriate tax location within the ZIP code.
Build 73 and earlier
- Position 7
- Blank
- Position 8
- A = Default (most populous) city within ZIP Code. (If there is an * in position 10 then this is also the default county for this city and ZIP.
- B = Default (most populous) county within city and ZIP.
- C - Z, 0 - 9 = Sequential character to make tax schedule ID unique.
- Position 9
- I = In city limits.
- O = Out of city limits.
- Position 10
- Sequential character for uniqueness used when a ZIP contains multiple cities and counties and therefore multiple county defaults.
- = This is the default city and county for this ZIP. (First use of this flag was Build 72
- Position 11 - 14
- Reserved (currently blank).
- Position 15
- [blank] = Taxable.
- X = Exempt
