We fixed a bug that occured in Sales Order Processing when the following conditions were met:
In the above situation, the Base On Customer items should be taxed because of the customer's Taxable Status However, our enhanced Tax by Item Class feature brought in an exempt schedule for the Nontaxable line-item. Microsoft Dynamics GP then carries that exempt schedule down to any subsequently entered line-items. This results in tax not being calculated and added to the order for these subsequently entered Base On Customer items.
To fix this bug, we no longer use the Zip Code Exempt Schedule to handle nontaxable Item Classes if you have selected to Use Advanced Tax Calc in the DynamicZip Setup window.
If you are not using Advanced Tax Calculation in conjunction with Tax By Item Class , the best solution is to simply clear the Use Advanced Tax Calc checkbox in the DynamicZip Setup window
To determine if you are currently using Advanced Tax Calculation in conjunction with Tax By Item Class, print the DZ Tax By Item Class Setup Report. If none of the Item Classes listed in the report have a Tax Option of Taxable, then you are not using Advanced Tax Calculation in conjunction with Tax By Item Class and you can safely clear the Use Advanced Tax Calc checkbox in the DynamicZip Setup window.
