In correspondence with the Tennessee State Department of Revenue we were told:

“The local tax cut off is at the $1,600 mark of the sales price of each individual single article of tangible personal property. It is not applicable to an entire invoice amount. The combined state and local tax must be collected on the first $1,600 of the sales price of each individual item of tangible personal property and on the total sales price of each sale of taxable services.

Specify Tax Details for Automatic Tax Calculation

An issue arises with this setting when DynamicZip adds a Tax Detail to a Tax Schedule during the Rate and Boundary Import. The Auto_Calculate option is off by default, and this results in new tax details not being included in tax calculations. To include the new taxes, you must turn on the Auto_Calculate option per detail per schedule. If you have not enabled Specify Tax Details for Automatic Tax Calculation, then you can disregard this note.

Using DZ Sales Batch Processing with the Manufacturing Series

DZ Sales Batch Processing opens the Sales Transaction Entry window and relies on the code running in that window to maintain and update things like sales commissions and account distributions. DynamicZip runs processes that update the item and customer taxability on the sales document and then calls the Microsoft Dynamics GP tax engine to recalculate the document’s tax and update the distributions, etc. on the document.

USPS city name not the incorporated city name

Situations exist where the USPS preferred city name is not the name of an incorporated city. In most cases this is not a problem. However, when USPS preferred city name is a region within an incorporated city, this can cause a schedule selection problem. For example, the USPS preferred city name for zip code 11373 is Elmhurst. Elmhurst is a neighborhood within the borough of Queens within New York city. New York city has a tax and therefore will onl…

Zero Rate County Overrides

This issue affects DynamicZip Build 73 and prior.

The ZIPsales Database uses overrides when the normal city, county or state tax rate does not apply to a particular jurisdiction. This issue is limited to zero rate county overrides.

When a county tax rate is reduced to zero for one or more cities, DynamicZip build 73 and prior failed to zero out or remove the standard county tax rate. This results in overstating the tax schedules' rate.
