Taxable States Group ID

The Taxable States Group ID is specified in the DynamicZip Setup window.

The Taxable States Group ID is used to specify the group of states in which and for which sales tax is charged and collected. If this field is left blank, then it has no affect. If a Group ID is entered in this field, then DynamicZip will prevent the import of sales tax rates for states not included in this group. DynamicZip will also prevent the import of addresses only from the KampDatabase for states included in this group that are not single rate states. (The KampDatabase Address Only import brings in only the USPS city for each zip and should not normally be used as a source of zip addresses for multiple rate states.)

This field was added with Build 77. Prior to this, the last used Group ID as stored in the Dex.ini File was the default group ID when the DZ Rate And Boundary Import window was opened. This behavior remains the same if the Taxable States Group ID is blank. Otherwise the Taxable States Group ID is the default group ID when importing rates and boundaries. When importing addresses only, the default group ID continues to be retrieved from the Dex.ini File.
