Dex.ini File

This file contains setup and operating information about Microsoft Dynamics GP

Each line of information (A.K.A. setting) in this file contains information such as where your files are located, and whether certain functions, like displaying print dialog boxes, should be performed. The Dex.ini is called a defaults file. This type of file is sometimes also referred to as an initialization file.

The Dex.ini file is installed in the Microsoft Dynamics GP folder (the folder where the Microsoft Dynamics GP engine is stored.) If you delete or rename the Dex.ini and restart Microsoft Dynamics GP then the file will be re-created in the Windows folder.

As of version 10, the Dex.ini file is installed in the Data folder (which is installed inside the folder where the Microsoft Dynamics GP engine is stored).

Settings in the Dex.ini file apply to the local workstation only.

Prior to Build 73 blanks in the DynamicZip reports were printed as “[BLANK]”. Blanks are now printed “”. If you prefer “[BLANK]”, this feature can be re-enabled by adding the following line to your Dex.ini file:

DZ_ClearBlanks=FALSE

As of Build 73 the value contained in the ID field of the Zipsales Database Detailg File is ignored by default. To not ignore the ID field, add or modify the following line in your Dex.ini file:

DZ_IgnoreDetailgFileId=FALSE

As of Build 73 the Option D Tax Report can be printed in the simple export layout by adding the following line to your Dex.ini file:

DZ_SimpleExportLayout=TRUE

DZ Extended Tax Recalculation can be switched to silent mode by adding the following line to your Dex.ini file:
