Document Tax Details

DynamicZip Tax Reports rely heavily on the Tax Detail records attached to each document in Microsoft Dynamics GP transaction history. These details identify the taxes that comprise the tax amount on the face of the document. Documents with no tax details attached pose a reporting challenge. This is the primary reason for using Exempt Tax Detail.

No Tax Details Found

Documents that have not been assigned a Tax Schedule as well as documents that contain only charges that have a Tax Option of Nontaxable will not automatically have any tax details attached. To facilitate the reporting of documents with no tax details attached, DynamicZip uses the following method:

  • Refer to the tax details associated with the document's tax schedule.

In some cases a tax schedule will become obsolete and be removed by the Rate & Boundary Import process in which case, the above method will fail. When this happens, DynamicZip will then use the following method:

  • Refer to the tax details associated with the document's Tax Location tax schedule.

If the Tax Location is the ship-to address, its tax schedule will be referred to only if the city, state and zip on the address card match what is saved on the document.
