To create exempt tax details and schedules for each state:

1. Open the DZ State Setup window
2. Use the Create Statewide Exempt Schedules

menu option. NOTE: When creating statewide exempt schedules, you will be given the option of auto inserting these tax schedule IDs into the state setup table as the Exempt ID for each state. Auto-inserting saves you the trouble of manually entering the Exempt IDs for each state in the DZ State Setup window States where you do not want to use an Exempt ID will then need to have theirs cleared.

1. The following will be created or updated for each state.
   • A Tax Schedule will be created using the two-letter state code followed by the word Exempt as the tax schedule ID (For example, CAEXEMPT). The tax schedule description will be the state name followed by the word Exempt.
   • A Zero Rate Tax Detail will be created using the same ID and description as the tax schedule above.
   • The DynamicZip tax detail supplement record will be created or updated with the state code, administrator and Geocode.

IMPORTANT: An entry in the Exempt ID field will be used as the exempt tax schedules for all tax exempt customers in this state.
