Why are some tax schedules removed during the import process?
There are a variety of reasons for which Tax Schedules are removed or made invalid during the rate & boundary import. Typically, the schedule being removed is being replaced with multiple schedules, or multiple schedules are being replaced with a single schedule. Here are a few possibilities:
- This is the first import since installing a new build of DynamicZip Our latest builds (starting with 59.10.30) handle city limits issues in a more positive way, creating inside and outside of city limits tax schedules whenever (and only when) there is a city and/or city local tax. Before this we relied on the city limits flags in the ZIPsales Database which failed to handle all cases.
- A city has enacted a new city or city local tax.
- A city or city local tax has been repealed.
- A Statewide Tax Schedule has been specified in DZ State Setup window which replaces the ZIP Code tax schedules. (In this case you would most likely see a lot of exempt ZIP Code tax schedules being removed).
What can I do if Tax Schedules are removed or made invalid during the import?
- You can update the customer address cards' tax schedules using the DZ Assign Customer Tax Schedules window.
- You can update unposted documents' tax schedules using the DZ Document Tax Schedule report.
- Please see rate & boundary import checklist for more information.
