Purge Counties

This feature is available at DynamicZip » Purge Counties when the DZ County Setup windowis open in Microsoft Dynamics GP.

As postal areas change from month to month, it is possible that the range of +4 extensions included in a particular county will change. When this happens, a new record will be created for the new range. Unless this purge process is run, the old record will remain in the file. Because the ranges are different, the old record needs to be removed to prevent it from being used in the DZ Zip+4 county selection process. This purge process examines the records in this table for inconsistent or overlapping records and when found, removes the older record.

• If you import the Rate & Boundary Database with the “Update all states - tax schedules” check box selected, click Yes in the message that asks “Do you want to import and purge the entire plus 4 file as part of this process?”.
• If you import the Rate & Boundary Database using multiple import groups of one or more states, it is more efficient to click Yes in the message.
  • Alternately, you can click No on all of the imports and then run this purge process from the DynamicZip menu on the DZ County Setup window.
