SQL Errors During Reporting

The most common cause for SQL Optimized Reports errors is the existence of at least one irregular document.

When dealing with newly discovered SQL report errors, it is unlikely that our technical support will be able to tell you what is wrong or how to fix it. Until a single error causing document is identified, Kamp-Data's technical support has no way of figuring out why the error is occurring. To correct such an issue we must be able to recreate the error on our computers. Recreating an error can be done with the following steps.

  1. We must be able to replicate the document that originally caused the error. This requires breaking down the report that has the error until the report is restricted to a single document. For this step, please see our link for help with Identifying Documents That Cause Reporting Errors.
  2. Once we have replicated the error causing document we should be able to trigger the SQL error.
  3. Only once we are successful in triggering the SQL error will we be able to figure out why the error is occurring.
  4. When we know why the error is occuring we will be able to debug the DynamicZip Reports to correctly handle the document.
