This report's output is an export file that can be easily imported into a spreadsheet program such as Microsoft» Excel. The export format can be text, comma or tab-delimited. If you choose comma-delimited and use a file extension of .csv (comma separated values) the file will be recognized by Excel and easily opened.
Column Headings
The first row in the output file is the column headings. If you choose the export format of “text”, the second row will contain the width of each column. All other rows are data - no headings, footers, or page breaks. Here is a list of the Export Columns.
Detailed Report
The detail version of this report will include a row for each tax detail in each transaction (subject to your range restrictions).
Summary Report
The summary version of this report will include a row each time the value of the lowest order sort field (for which you have selected “Print footer”) changes. This row is the totals of the records included in that sort value. For example, if you select to sort by country, state, county, and city, this report will give you the totals by city. It will include one row for each city.
Simple Export Layout
The Option D Summary Report can be printed in a simple export layout by modifying the Dex.ini The simple export layout has the following columns:
- Sort 1
- Sort 2
- Sort 3
- Sort 4
- Total Amount
- Taxable Amount
- Exempt Amount
- Tax Amount
A matching report can be generated from the KampData TaxEngine by creating a report with the following options:
- Report by: TaxDetail
- Output: Export
- Export Layout: Simple
- and sorts that match the sorts used in the DynamicZip report being matched.
