DynamicZip works in concert with the native Microsoft Dynamics GP functionality including the Microsoft Dynamics GP tax engine.

The following tax related functions are handled by Microsoft Dynamics GP

• Initial assignment of a tax schedule to the document.
  • From the Customer Address Maintenance window if Shipping Type is Delivery.
  • From the Site Maintenance window if Shipping Type is Pickup.
• Tax calculation.
• Creation of the document's tax detail records.
• Creation of the document's distributions including those for taxes.

The following tax related functions are handled by DynamicZip

• ZipAddressing when the user enters a ZIP Code in the Sales Ship To Address Entry window
• Tax Schedule Selection when the user tabs into or clicks on the Tax Schedule ID field in the Sales Customer Detail Entry window and in the Sales Item Detail Entry window.
• Swapping the IV Site's Zip Code Tax Schedule for a Zip Code Exempt Schedule when the Shipping Type is Pickup and the customer is designated as exempt in the DZ Customer Supplement window for the tax location state.
• Modifing the Item Tax Option and/or Item Tax Schedule ID base on the Tax By Item Category settings when a line-item is added to the document and when the line-item's ship to State or Shipping Type is modified.
