ZIPsales Import Cntysplit

The Rate & Boundary Database city.txt file has a column named Cntysplit. Prior to build 72 the Rate & Boundary Import was splitting this tax. In other words we capped the county tax based on the Split or Maxtax and then created a city tax detail that continued the tax above the county cap. As of build 72, we now cap the county tax as before, but do not create the city tax above the cap. This error appears to have only affected tax collection for the city of Morristown (Hamblen) TN and then only when a single item is priced at over $1,600.

Excerpt from the CCH Databas2.doc:

Cntysplit: Cities may override the sales amount at which counties cap their sales tax collection, as indicated in the Split field on the county record, or the maximum tax amount that the county allows to collect, as indicated by the Maxtax field on the county record. This override is independent of any other override flags and fields, and is indicated merely by the fact that there is a value in this field.

This field then, if populated, contains the county Split, which always overrides either Split or Maxtax on the county record, whichever is populated.
