Nontaxable Item Handling
Handling of Nontaxable items by DynamicZip in Sales Order Processing has been enhanced. Prior to this modification, the Nontaxable selection resulted in the applicable line-items being added to the Sales Order Processing document with a Tax Option of Nontaxable which is standard Microsoft Dynamics GP behavior.
The problem with this method is that it results in no tax details being added to the document related to this line-item. The primary and preferred way that DynamicZip Tax Reports identify the document's Tax Location is by reference to the tax details attached to the document. As of this modification, DynamicZip will attempt to assign the appropriate exempt tax schedule to the line-item. If unable to assign an exempt tax schedule, the line-item will be set to Nontaxable as it was prior to this modification.
This feature has been enabled in DynamicZip as a standard part of the Tax Schedule Selection process and is not restricted to Tax By Item Category.
