Flat File Test

NOTE: This has been replaced with the verify process as of Build 74.

This feature is available at DynamicZip » Flat File Test when the DZ Rate and Boundary Import window is open in Microsoft Dynamics GP version 10.0.

Kamp-Data uses this test internally for Software Quality Assurance (SQA) purposes as it helps verify the accuracy of the Rate & Boundary Import process. This test reads CCH's FLAT.txt file and compares the total rate contained in the FLAT.txt file for each ZIP Code with the appropriate DynamicZip tax schedule's total tax rate.

When run against the complete Rate & Boundary Database this process will test approximately 62,000 tax rates.

To Run the Flat File Test

  1. Log the process by selecting Log Processes. You will need to specify a log file location in the DynamicZip Setup window if you haven't already. Any tax rate discrepancies will be written to this log file.
  2. Select View Log File to verify that your log file is valid. A Notepad window should open displaying the contents of your file.
  3. Select Flat File Test.
  4. Click Import. With Flat File Test selected, clicking Import will run the Flat File Test rather than importing the Rate & Boundary Database.
  5. Select View Log File to view the detailed results of the Flat File Test.
