DynamicZip Report Warning Flags

The DynamicZip Tax Reports may contain the following symbols on one or more lines in the report to alert you to conditions encountered while generating the report.

#

A pound or hash sign indicates that this line is a document reconciling adjustment. This line in the report was generated by the Reconcile Documents feature.

!

An exclamation point indicates that the document's tax detail summary records are missing.

This is normal if no tax schedule has been assigned to the document or if using Advanced Tax Calculation and no common tax details were found.

If the tax amount on the document is not zero, this indicates that something is wrong such as data corruption or perhaps the document was imported from an application that failed to create the document tax details. The DynamicZip Tax Reports use the document tax detail summary records to identify the tax jurisdiction. For best results, all documents should have tax detail summary records. This is the primary reason we recommend using Zip Code Exempt Schedule for exempt or non-taxed documents.

*

An asterisk indicates that the document's tax detail summary is out of balance with tax detail line. This is most likely the result of manually editing the document's tax detail summary records.

**

A double asterisk indicates that multiple values included in this sort break.

As an example, this flag will often appear on Document Centric reports in relation to a document that has multiple ship-to's or multiple Tax Locations. If the document's tax location (such as city) appears on the report, the value for the city will print on the report as ** indicating that the document contains more than one city.

This situation frequently occurs on the records added to the report by the Reconcile Documents option. For example when one of the sort's is Location Code and the document being reconciled has more than one related location code (perhaps one for the city tax and a different one for the county tax).
