How do I uninstall DynamicZip?

DynamicZip can be uninstalled by deleting all references to DynamicZip from the Dynamics Set File and from the Dex.ini. After these files have been modified, DynamicZip will effectively be removed from the Microsoft Dynamics GP application.

NOTE: If you have created shortcuts to any DynamicZip windows, then those shortcuts will need to be manually deleted.

To edit the Dynamics Set File

  1. Make a copy of the DYNAMICS.SET File or print it before editing it.
  2. Using Notepad, open the DYNAMICS.SET File .
  3. Remove all references to DynamicZip (581, DynamicZip, KD581.DIC, KD581F.DIC, KD581R.DIC).
  4. Reduce the number in the first line of the DYNAMICS.SET File by one. This is the number of products in the DYNAMICS.SET File (See Dynamics Set File Examples).
  5. Be sure there are no blank lines in the DYNAMICS.SET File.
  6. Leave a carriage return after the last line.
  7. Save and close the DYNAMICS.SET File.

To edit the Dex.ini

  1. Make a copy of the Dex.ini or print it before editing it.
  2. Using Notepad, open the Dex.ini.
  3. Remove all references to DynamicZip (These will start with DZ_ or KD_).
  4. Be sure there are no blank lines in the file.
  5. Leave a carriage return after the last line.
  6. Save and close the Dex.ini.

For complete removal of DynamicZip the following files should be manually deleted from your Microsoft Dynamics GP folder.

  • DynZip.log (If one was created.)1)
  • DZDemoLicense.rtf
  • DZFiles Folder and its contents.
  • DZLicense.rtf
  • DZReadMe.htm
  • DZReadMe.txt
  • DZSample Folder and its contents.
  • KD581.CHM
  • KD581.CHW (If one was created.)
  • KD581.DIC
  • KD581F.DIC (If one was created.)
  • KD581R.DIC (If one was created.)
  • KD581Rename.VBS

Although it is not necessary, you may also wish to delete the DynamicZip tables and stored procedures.

In Microsoft SQL Server » Management Studio, delete the DynamicZip Tables and stored procedures from the Dynamics and company databases.

The DynamicZip tables start with “DZ” followed by the physical name of the table (for example DZ00900), and the stored procedures start with “zDP_DZ” followed by the physical name of a table and some additional alphanumeric characters (for example zDP_DZ00900F_1).

See DynamicZip Tables for a complete list and descriptions of the DynamicZip tables.
