+You may have situations in Illinois where the state requires the IL state sales tax to be collected throughout the state, but only require the city, county and county local taxes for sales in Chicago (all other city, county and local sales taxes being exempt). This page details two methods of approaching this kind of situation.
+==== Method 1 ====
+  - Open the [[dynamiczip:windows:DZ State Setup window]].
+    - Pull up IL state.
+    - Enable all four [[dynamiczip:features:import:rate_and_boundary_import_restrictions|Exclude from Import]] check boxes.
+    - Press the Save button.
+  - [[dynamiczip:faq:import_group_id_single_state_faq|Run the import for IL]] **NOTE:** The import will remove all city, county, county local and city local tax details from the Illinois [[dynamiczip:glossary:Zip Code Tax Schedule]].
+  - Open the [[dynamiczip:windows:DZ Modify Tax Schedules window]] to re-add the Chicago city, Cook county and Cook county local tax details to the Chicago tax schedules.
+    - Select Schedules by Description.
+    - Type "IL CHICAGO, COOK" for the Starting Description and "IL CHICAGO, COOKZ" for the Ending Description.
+    - Limit Schedules to Taxable.
+    - Process: Add Tax Details.
+    - Enable the Limit to Range of Details check box.
+    - Type "ILSLCOOKCOL001" for both the Starting and Ending Tax Detail IDs.
+    - Press the Preview button to see a report of changes that would be made.
+    - If the preview report looks correct then press the Add button.
+    - Change the Starting and Ending Tax Detail IDs to "ILSNCOOKCOU001".
+    - Preview the changes, and if they look correct press the Add button.

+  * Any changes to ZIP Codes or tax rates in Chicago will no longer be automatically handled by the [[dynamiczip:features:import:rate_and_boundary_import|Rate & Boundary Import]].
+  * In performing this method DynamicZip is configured to maintain only the state tax rate in Illinois.
+  * Any changes to the Chicago and/or Cook county tax details (e.g. a change in the tax rate ) will need to be tracked and updated manually.

+  - Open the [[dynamiczip:windows:DZ Modify Tax Schedules window]] to remove all city, county and local [[dynamiczip:glossary:Tax Detail]] from all non-Chicago [[dynamiczip:glossary:Tax Schedule]] in Illinois.
+    * Select Schedules by Description.
+    * Type "IL" for the Starting Description and "IL CHICAGO RIDGE" for the Ending Description.
+    * Limit Schedules to Taxable.
+    * Process: Remove Tax Details.
+    * **NOTE:** You must repeat the next 3 steps for each of the appropriate Jurisdiction Levels (County, County-Local, City and City-Local).
+      * Set Jurisdiction Level to one of the following: County, County-Local, City or City-Local.
+      * Press the Preview button to see a report of the changes that would be made.
+      * If the preview report looks correct then press the Remove button.
+    * Change the Starting Description to "IL CHICAGO, DUPAGE".
+    * Change the Ending Description to "ILz".
+    * **NOTE:** The next 3 steps must be repeated for each of the appropriate Jurisdiction Levels (County, County-Local, City and City-Local).

+Importing the [[dynamiczip:glossary:rate_and_boundary_database|Rate & Boundary Database]] for the state of IL will wipe out all the changes made in step 2. This presents the following options:
+  - You may choose not to include IL when you perform the rate & boundary import. Please see [[dynamiczip:faq:import_group_id_single_state_faq|Import Single State FAQ]] for more information. **//IMPORTANT!://** If you choose not to import IL then maintenance of Illinois [[dynamiczip:glossary:Zip Address]] as well as the IL state, Cook county/county-local and Chicago city [[dynamiczip:glossary:Tax Detail]] must be handled manually.
