====== Select Default ====== The Select Default Tax Schedule option in the [[dynamiczip:windows:dynamiczip_setup_window|DynamicZip Setup window]] will cause DynamicZip to automatically select a tax schedule even when multiple choices exist. When there is only one tax schedule that is not for a city, county, state and/or ZIP that is different than the [[dynamiczip:glossary:tax_location|Tax Location's]] city, county, state and ZIP, that single choice is not considered to be a default and will be selected even if this option not selected. ===== Build 74 and Later ===== The default tax schedule for a particular ZIP Code is determined using the following criteria: - Rate in descending order (maximum rate gets top priority). - USPS city gets a higher priority than non-USPS cities (above factors being the same). - Tax schedules that have city, county and state tax get a higher priority than those that do not have all three - city, county and state tax (above factors being the same). - Tax schedules that have a city tax get a higher priority than those without city tax (above factors being the same). - Tax schedules with a county tax get a higher priority than those with only state tax (above factors being the same). - Geocode in ascending order (geocodes typically reflect the alphabetic order of the place names) (above factors being the same). - RateSetIndex (above factors being the same). When assigning a tax schedule, DynamicZip will select the schedule with the highest priority that is not for a city, county, state and/or ZIP that is different than the [[dynamiczip:glossary:tax_location|Tax Location's]] city, county, state and ZIP. More information on [[dynamiczip:faq:tax_schedule_selection_logic_faq|tax schedule selection logic.]] ===== Prior to Build 74 ===== The CCH [[dynamiczip:glossary:zipsales_database|ZIPsales Database]] identifies which address selection is the default, when a ZIP Code spans multiple cities and/or counties. This was done based on a flag indicating which choice had the highest population. There are two types of defaults identified. They are: * [[dynamiczip:features:schedule_assignment:default_for_zip|Default for Zip]] (This identifies the default city/county combination for a particular ZIP Code.) * [[dynamiczip:features:schedule_assignment:default_for_city_and_zip|Default for City and Zip]] (This identifes the default county for a particular city and ZIP Code.) This information is stored in the [[dynamiczip:tables:DZ Zip Address table]] for addressing purposes, and is embeded in the [[dynamiczip:glossary:zip_code_tax_schedule_id_format|Zip Code Tax Schedule ID Format]] for tax schedule selection purposes. In earlier versions of DynamicZip the Select Default option was named Base on Majority. ---- [[dynamiczip:glossary:Glossary]]
