====== Item Category ======

Item Category is a DynamicZip designation used to help with the management of groups of items. DynamicZip uses this designation to manage the [[dynamiczip:glossary:Tax Option]] by state for the group of items belonging to the item category. This feature is referred to as [[dynamiczip:features:tbic:tax_by_item_category|Tax by Item Category or TBIC]]. 

An item can be assigned to a general Item Category. If a particular state requires that particular item to be taxed differently than other items in that general Item Category, the item can be given an [[dynamiczip:glossary:Item_Category_Override|Item Category Override]] for that particular state. This feature effectively minimizes the item category setup requirements. 

Item Category ID's are created by the user. However there are two predefined Item Category ID's and they are:
  * FREIGHT
  * MISC
