======Geocode======

A geocode is a numeric representation of a geographic location. \\ 
 
In [[dynamiczip:install:mods:release:Build74:build74|Build 74.0]] DynamicZip uses the  FIPS Codes available from the United States Board on Geographic Names as provided by Kamp-Data, Inc. The FIPS Codes are imported from the [[dynamiczip:glossary:fips_code_file|FipsCodes.txt File]]. Prior to this build, they were imported from the [[dynamiczip:glossary:rate_and_boundary_database|Rate & Boundary Database]]. 

FIPS Codes are stored in the [[dynamiczip:tables:dz_geocode_master_table|DZ Geocode Master table]]. The primary purpose of these records is to [[dynamiczip:glossary:fips_code_file|resolve multiple spellings of a single place name to its preferred spelling]].

A geocode is a combination of FIPS Codes in the following format: 
  * 1122233333    
    * 11 = The state FIPS Code
    * 222 = The county FIPS Code
    * 33333 = The city FIPS Code.
