====== Flat File Test ======

**NOTE:** Effective with Build 74 this has been replaced with the [[dynamiczip:glossary:verify_rates_and_boundaries|Verify Rates and Boundaries process]]. This feature was available at //DynamicZip >> Flat File Test// in the ZIPsales Import window. 

Kamp-Data uses this test internally for Software Quality Assurance (SQA) purposes as it helps verify the accuracy of the [[dynamiczip:features:import:rate_and_boundary_import|Rate & Boundary Import]] process. This test reads CCH's FLAT.txt file and compares the total rate contained in the FLAT.txt file for each ZIP Code with the appropriate DynamicZip tax schedule's total tax rate. 

When run against the complete [[dynamiczip:glossary:rate_and_boundary_database|Rate & Boundary Database]] this process will test approximately 62,000 tax rates.

===== To Run the Flat File Test =====
==== Build 74 and later ====
The Verify Rates and Boundaries process can be run as part of an import or it can be run separately. To run it separately, select Custom as the Import Destination in the [[dynamiczip:windows:dz_rate_and_boundary_import_window|DZ Rate and Boundary Import window]]. Leave all the import destination check boxes cleared.
  - Select Verify Rates and Boundaries in the [[dynamiczip:windows:dz_rate_and_boundary_import_window|DZ Rate and Boundary Import window]].
  - Select SQL Optimize. (Optional but faster.)
  - Select All States or enter a Group ID.
  - Click the Import button. 


==== Build 73 and prior ====

  - Open the [[dynamiczip:windows:DZ Rate and Boundary Import window]]. 
  - Log the process by selecting [[dynamiczip:windows:Log Processes]]((Removed in [[dynamiczip:install:mods:release:build77:build77|Build 77.0]])). You will need to specify a log file location in the [[dynamiczip:windows:DynamicZip Setup window]] if you haven't already. Any tax rate discrepancies will be written to this log file.
  - Select [[dynamiczip:windows:View Log File]]((Removed in [[dynamiczip:install:mods:release:build77:build77|Build 77.0]])) to verify that your log file is valid. A Notepad window should open displaying the contents of your file.
  - Select Flat File Test. 
  - Click **Import**. With **Flat File Test** selected, clicking **Import** will run the Flat File Test rather than importing the [[dynamiczip:glossary:rate_and_boundary_database|Rate & Boundary Database]]. 
  - Select [[dynamiczip:windows:View Log File]]((Removed in [[dynamiczip:install:mods:release:build77:build77|Build 77.0]])) to view the detailed results of the Flat File Test.
