====== What happens during a DynamicZip Upgrade? ====== You can upgrade DynamicZip by completing the [[dynamiczip:faq:Upgrade Instructions]] Technical Description of the Upgrade Process. DynamicZip is a [[dynamiczip:glossary:Dexterity]] based program. Once installed, DynamicZip exists as the KD581 dictionary file (.DIC) located in your [[dynamics:dynamics|Microsoft Dynamics GP]] installation folder.\\ \\ We do not recommend merging your existing KD581.DIC with a new copy of DynamicZip (the new KD581.DIC). For this reason, we have designed the upgrade process to disable the current KD581.DIC by renaming it to KD5810001.DIC before the new KD581.DIC is unchunked (the process of converting from a ".cnk" file to a ".dic" file). Since 1/23/06, the DynamicZip [[kampdata:download_page|download]] has contained a Visual Basic script [[dynamiczip:install:kd581rename_vbs|KD581Rename.vbs]] that automatically handles the renaming of the KD581.DIC file. **NOTE:** Deleting the KD581.DIC after it has been renamed to KD5810001.DIC is __not required__. DynamicZip will not delete the file. If you do not delete the KD5810001.DIC manually, during your next upgrade DynamicZip will rename the KD581.DIC to KD5810002.DIC, KD5810003.DIC, etc. **IMPORTANT:** If you get a warning message stating that DynamicZip is already installed, then you need to remove your existing DynamicZip from the Windows Control Panel >> Add or Remove Programs window. Open the Add/Remove Programs window, select DynamicZip and choose to remove/uninstall it. Removing DynamicZip from the Add/Remove Programs window does not actually effect DynamicZip, and is only required to get past the warning message. ---- [[dynamiczip:faq:Frequently Asked Questions|FAQ]]\\ [[dynamiczip:faq:new_install_instructions|Installation & Setup]] \\ [[dynamiczip:faq:Service Pack FAQ|Minor Updates]]
