====== How can I setup the sales tax posting account? ======
You can setup default accounts, and you can assign accounts to tax details. 

===== Default Posting Account Setup =====

Microsoft Dynamics GP provides a default posting account for sales tax liability. Taxes associated with any [[dynamiczip:glossary:Tax Detail]] that does not have a specific posting account assigned to it will be posted to that default posting account.

==== To set the default posting account in Microsoft Dynamics GP ====

  - Open the Posting Accounts Setup window (Setup >> Posting >> Posting Accounts).
  - Choose the Sales series from the Display list.
  - Scroll down to Taxes and type the default posting account of your choice.
  - Click OK. 

==== To set the default posting account per state in DynamicZip ====

  - Open the [[dynamiczip:windows:DZ State Setup window]]. 
  - Enter or lookup a State.
  - Enter or lookup a posting account. **NOTE:** The State Setup window's Posting Account field will only be used for __new tax details__. Any existing tax details' posting accounts will not be updated by this field.


==== Tax Detail Posting Account Setup ====

Microsoft Dynamics GP provides the option to set a posting account per tax detail ID. To assist with managing the vast number of tax detail IDs, DynamicZip provides the option to set the tax details' posting accounts en mass.\\
 
 === Tax Detail Maintenance ===

  - Open the Microsoft Dynamics GP [[dynamics:windows:Tax Detail Maintenance window]]. 
  - Select the desired tax detail ID. 
  - If a posting account is entered in the Account field, then it will be used for this tax detail instead of the account listed in Posting Account Setup above. 

=== DZ Set Posting Accounts ===

This window allows you to set the posting account for multiple tax details at once.

  - Open the [[dynamiczip:windows:DZ Set Posting Accounts window]]. 
  - Enter a Type of Sales or Purchases. 
  - Use one of the available Selection Methods to include the tax details of your choice.
  - You can also limit by Taxable or Exempt details if you need to.
  - Enter or lookup a posting account.
  - Press the Preview button to see a report of the changes to be made with your current settings.
  - Press the Update button to set the posting account.
