====== How does DynamicZip handle tax exempt customers? ======

DynamicZip allows you to flag customers as tax exempt via the  [[dynamiczip:windows:DZ Customer Supplement window]]. Here are some steps you can follow for setting up a customer as tax exempt. 


  - Open the Customer Maintenance window (Cards >> Sales >> Customer).
  - Enter or lookup the Customer ID.
  - Press Ctrl+1 to open the DZ Customer Supplement window. 
  - Change the [[dynamiczip:glossary:Base Taxable Status]] to Exempt.
  - Press Save.
  - Close the DZ Customer Supplement window. 
  - Use the [[dynamiczip:windows:DZ Assign Customer Tax Schedules window]] to ensure that every address card for this customer is updated with an [[dynamiczip:glossary:exempt tax schedule]]. **IMPORTANT:** This step is necessary because the customer has only been flagged as tax exempt and their Tax Schedule ID fields must now be updated.
